ST.
LOUIS, Missouri — Faculty and staff members from Olivet University’s
St. Louis Main Campus and Riverside Campus held an online meeting on August 25,
2026, to review preparations and key operational plans for the Convocation
scheduled to take place at the St. Louis Main Campus on September 18.
Participants
included Dr. Nate Tran, Chair of the Olivet University Board of Trustees;
Michael Ford, Chaplain of the Riverside Campus; Elizabeth, Finance Director of
the St. Louis Campus; and Sarah Zhang, Chaplain of the St. Louis Campus.
To
ensure the smooth operation of the Convocation, participants conducted a
comprehensive review of the event schedule, detailed program, individual roles
and responsibilities, and major preparatory tasks that must be completed before
the event. They also clarified the responsibilities assigned to each campus and
discussed areas requiring close cooperation between the two campuses, as well
as plans for continued communication.
Prior
to the online meeting, faculty and staff members at the St. Louis Campus held a
separate internal meeting that morning to review key agenda items related to
the Convocation and establish the basic operational direction for the event.
Representatives from the St. Louis and Riverside campuses then joined the
online meeting to share the plans developed during the internal discussion and
coordinate the details necessary for the event.
Participants
agreed that the Convocation would be more than the beginning of a new academic
term. It would also be an important occasion for the university community to
welcome the new semester together and reaffirm Olivet University’s vision and
mission. Accordingly, the two campuses agreed to continue monitoring the
preparations and maintain close communication and cooperation through the day
of the event.
The
Olivet University Convocation is scheduled to take place at the St. Louis Main
Campus on September 18. The event is expected to bring together faculty, staff,
students, and other members of the university community to celebrate the
beginning of the new semester and renew their shared vision and commitment to
education and ministry.
